The Birth of BabyLexDance
I am Alexis. I am a mother of two, and currently 5 months postpartum.
I am a university qualified dance teacher* with many years of experience dancing professionally. However, after the birth of my children everything changed. My body, my mind, my priorities. I couldn't find the time to do things that made me feel good because it meant taking away time with my babies and "mama guilt" would creep in the moment I even considered it.
Being a dancer I always had a strong connection to my body. But, after it literally created life, twice. It felt different, it looked different and I often felt it didn't belong to me. I didn't know how to move with it. It was so strong in it's ability to grow and birth two babies and yet I didn't feel strong. I felt weak and sore. It craved movement and I knew I needed to spend more time learning about my new body and what it needed. So, I began to utilise my babies play-time as a chance to dance with them. And we created something magical.
I connected with my body and my babies and now I want to share it with you!

If baby is sleeping don't worry, you absolutely can do it without, so enjoy mama!

STRETCH ME OUT

This class is designed to nourish and activate our core and pelvic floor through breathing and stretching. Mothers spend so much time holding, feeding and loving our babies this class will target those tight spots and teach you how to breath into them and release all of that tension!!
POWER ME UP
Zoom 35mins
This class is aimed at Mama's who need a pick-me-up and to help lift your serotonin (happy hormone) levels. It will get the heart pumping and the body moving. Using foundational dance techniques you will stretch, strengthen and boogie.
TOP ME UP
Zoom 25mins
Just as the name suggests this class is designed to be quick but, effective. Don't reach for that sugary snack that will leave you crashing in an hour, instead grab some water and come dance with me! It will help to lift your serotonin levels and stretch out those tension holding spots. A combination of stretches and dance techniques will make you feel energised ready to tackle your world again!
